Dr. Eric Ericson is a Rockford native and a founding partner of New Vision Laser Center. He was a comprehensive ophthalmologist in Rockford for 44 years upon his retirement in 2020.
Dr. Ericson graduated from Rockford West High School and received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan. He completed his internship at Wesley Memorial Hospital in Chicago, and his residency in ophthalmology at the University of Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary.
After completing his training, Dr. Ericson joined Dr. T. William Cook in private practice at the Rockton Avenue Eye Clinic, providing comprehensive ophthalmology services for 20 years. In 1996 he joined the Rockford Clinic, and in 2000 he partnered with Dr. Brightbill to form Brightbill/Ericson Eye Associates. Dr. Ericson is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and an Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Rockford.
As a Rockford native, Dr. Ericson found particular pleasure in having the opportunity to develop long-lasting relationships with his patients, sometimes bridging several generations.
